Lucas Shane Haven, 32, of Southaven, died on July 23, 2021, at Methodist Hospital in Olive Branch, surrounded by his family after a battle with lung cancer.

Born on February 5, 1989, in Memphis, Tenn., Luke attended Olive Branch High School and went on to receive his G.E.D

Lucas’s main passion was his love of and interaction with horses. He was a horse trainer and managed several stables and led as a trail guide in horse riding groups. He enjoyed working with computers, gaming, and being with his friends.

Lucas is survived by his Mother, Sheila Haven of Southaven, Miss.; his Father, John Phelps of Hernando, Miss.; his sister, Jenna Haven of Hernando, Miss.; his brother, Barry Haven Jr. of Byhalia, Miss., and his brother, Ross Phelps of North Carolina.

Services were held Tuesday, July 27, 10 a.m. at Victory Church in Byhalia with interment in Byhalia Cemetery. Caleb Shackelford officiated with Hernando Funeral Home handling all arrangements. Donations can be given to American Cancer Society.
