Faye Lucile (Lucy) Case King, 86, of Brookhaven passed away at home with her family on September 8, 2021. She was born on September 4, 1935, to the late Ras Case and Gladys Smith Case. She was the beloved wife of Charlie J. King for 70 years. She was the loving mother of Cathey (Ricky) Ferguson, Scott (Sharon) King, Chris (Lydia) King, and Cindy (Conrad) Mord; sister of Carolyn Boleware and stepsister of Barbara Garrett.

She was the proud grandmother of Seth Ferguson, Tye (Soon) Ferguson, Kala (Dalton) Bradley, Brittany (Jeff) Williams, Carlie Smith, Lindi (Coby) Smith, Brooke (Jacob) Morse, and Sarah Beth King; and great-grandmother of fifteen.

She was preceded in death by her parents and stepmother, Jesse Case; brother, Dennis Case; sister, Catherine Case; and stepbrother, Ken Crosby.

She graduated from Co-Lin High School where she played basketball and was a Colette. Lucy enjoyed golfing, bowling, cooking (especially for family and friends), sewing, and flower gardening (especially daylilies). She loved going to her children’s and grandchildren’s events. She was an avid fan of the Braves and the Manning brothers.

Lucy was an active member of Macedonia Baptist Church and loved her Sunday School class. She enjoyed assisting with refreshments during Vacation Bible School.

The family would like to thank her wonderful caregivers, Connie Cade, Catherine Ainsworth, Phyllis Francis, Lisa Brown and Florida Butler for the love and care they gave to their loved one. Also thank you to Deaconess Hospice and especially Dana Coke Hester.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Macedonia Baptist Church Building Fund.

There was a private family service.
